After winning the Music&Star Awards competition, I was approached by the label KNS Classical with an incredible opportunity: to record my first solo album.
After two years of musical collaboration with pianist Alessandro Tardino during my studies in Basel, it seemed natural to carry out this recording project with him. We chose three major works from the cello and piano repertoire: the sonatas by Richard Strauss, Claude Debussy, and César Franck.
These works have inspired and accompanied me for many years. They seemed ideal for this recording: ambitious, passionate, and full of hope. They also offer three very different ways of imagining the dialogue between cello and piano.
We recorded the album at the Heinz Holliger Auditorium at Don Bosco in Basel – a stunning venue with acoustics perfectly suited to this repertoire.
The album will be released in the coming months on KNS Classical. I can’t wait to share it with you. Stay tuned!
